About Me

Hi, I am Amy – a leadership coach supporting women and teams in the food and grocery industry. With a career spanning over 22 years working for prestigious corporate food manufacturers, I have a strong network and am respected expert in my field.

The co-host of the popular award-winning podcast “Oh for Food’s Sake”, I help unwrap the joys and struggles of working in the fast paced food industry. As part of this, I draw on my own experience of resilience, having suffered severe mental and physical burnout whilst working in a senior management role. Having successfully rebuilt a successful career, I am able to help others who find themselves navigating a similar path. My mission is to inspire others to have the same success in their careers, but without burnout.

When I’m not working, as a real foodie, I’m likely to be found in the kitchen, getting messy with my young daughter.

My Values

I believe that we are born to be courageous before life happens to us. I help people unlock the courage within them to move forward with confidence and conviction

Growth Mindset

I believe we all have the power to change our lives through our mindset, to reframe our thoughts and to make a difference in this world. I help people to create a growth mindset that creates lasting change.

At the heart of my coaching practice is a compassion for people and the connections we make with one another. I have an open and empathetic style which helps people to open up and unlock their potential

A balanced approach to life and success is very important to me. I am mindful of how a balanced life helps build resilience and this is an important part of having a successful life

My Approach

I have a friendly, down to earth style which helps people to open up.

I am not afraid to ask the difficult questions that help get to the heart of an issue but I do it in a supportive and non-judgmental way.

I use deep questioning and other tried and tested techniques to unlock the potential in individuals and groups.

I have unique blend of professional and empathic skills that create a supportive space for growth.

My Story

Back in 2011, from the outside, I appeared to have a thriving and enviable life. 12 years into my career and I was flying high, getting multimillion-pound deals as a Senior Commercial Manager in the Food Industry, and doing it really well.

I had a brand new shiny big house and an immense pressure to keep earning my big salary. So, I worked harder and longer hours, to “prove my worth” at work and also to pay for a lifestyle that kept me super busy.

I was pushing my body to the limits as well – in the gym 5 times a week. I found the adrenaline rush of exercise helped me block out all the stuff that filled my head from my long working days.

I wore my “suit of armour” every day, so that no-one could see the cracks starting to appear.

Until one day, I couldn’t get out of bed. I had completely and utterly burnt out mentally and physically.

I needed to put positive strategies in place to help myself physically and mentally. I also needed someone to hold me accountable that stuff.

That’s when I discovered “Coaching” – someone to talk to without fear of being judged but also help me create some goals to move towards AND keep me accountable, too. My first coach most definitely felt like my cheerleader, working alongside me to keep me motivated and help me get back to the career I loved.

I bounced back and returned to corporate life (and gained another 6 years of invaluable experience in marketing and leadership roles) and realised that without my suit of armour, I was a much better leader. I coached my teams through a lot of change, no longer afraid to show my own vulnerability.

I have a natural empathy, a way of helping people see the best in themselves and I also listen and reflect in a way that helps people make more sense of the things whirring around their head. This was cemented by the reaction of everyone I have worked with professionally when I told them about my change in direction into coaching… “OMG, you were born to be a coach, Amy”. The signs don’t get much stronger than that!

I now combine my business and life experience with my coaching skills to support professionals within the Food industry to get the recognition and results they deserve, without feeling frazzled.
